The Orkney Folk Festival is bringing its legendary Friday night stomp to Kirkwall — and for the first time, Rapture is the venue. Join us for a night of world-class live music in the heart of Kirkwall as the festival’s 43rd year gets into full swing.
Taking the stage are Elephant Sessions, the award-winning Highland folk-funk band who have toured the globe from Glastonbury to Byron Bay Bluesfest. Expect big grooves, electric fiddles and a dancefloor-ready blend of trad, funk and electronica that has made them one of the most exciting live acts in contemporary folk music.
Joining them is Gráinne Hunt, bringing her distinctive Irish style to Rapture for a night of two worlds colliding.
The Orkney Folk Festival runs 21–24 May 2026 and draws over 52 acts from the USA, Canada, Finland, Ireland, England and across Scotland — making it Orkney’s biggest annual festival. The Kirkwall Stomp is your chance to catch the festival spirit right here at Garden Square.
